From 01-Sept-2020, guests of all nationalities are required to provide a negative PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) laboratory test result for COVID-19, which was issued not more than 48 – 72 hours prior arrival at any of the Egyptian airports. This was first communicated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in a press conference on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. The decision to require the test for all travelers was due to “increasing infections in some countries,” the PM said.

Until August 31, foreign tourists are only allowed to enter the three Egyptian coastal governorates which have the lowest coronavirus infection rates in the country: these are South Sinai, Red Sea and Matrouh.
